Sports Build Discipline, Confidence and Leadership Among Students: Vikramaditya Singh

Shimla, Sept 6: Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh inaugurated a three-day Under-14 Girls’ Zonal Sports Competition at Government Senior Secondary School, Pahal, on Sunday.

The competition is witnessing participation from girls representing 13 schools. Singh said sports play an important role in developing discipline, confidence, leadership, teamwork and resilience among students. He encouraged the young athletes to participate in the spirit of sportsmanship and make the most of the opportunity.

He announced ₹4 lakh for construction of a school toilet and ₹31,000 from his MLA fund towards organising the competition. He also assured financial assistance for a kitchen shed.

Singh said several development projects are underway in the area, including the Pahal-Gehni-Devidhar road project costing around ₹14 crore and the Kadiyachi-Tabog expansion project costing around ₹12 crore. He also announced that a Mahila Khel Mahakumbh for women from Tutu and Sunni areas would be organised in October.
