Public Outreach Programme Held in Raipur Sahoda to Empower BPL Families in Una

Una, August 10: A public outreach programme was organised in Gram Panchayat Raipur Sahoda under the state government’s welfare initiative ‘Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar’, aimed at ensuring effective access to government schemes for extremely poor and BPL families.

The programme was attended by families from Raipur Sahoda, Dehlan Lower, Dehlan Upper, Jakheda, Abada Barana, Binewal, Fatehpur, Jankaur, Tabba, Mehatpur, Udaipur, Jhurowal, Khanpur, Lamlaihra, Majara, Bhadoliya Kalan, Chhatarpur, Chadtgarh, Sasan, Upper Bahdala, Bahdala, Malukpur, Nangran, Sanoli, Sunehra, Ajauli, Badaihar, Bangarh Bhatoli, Barsada and Basoli panchayats.

The programme was chaired by Una Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, while former Una MLA Satpal Singh Raizada was also present.

Jatin Lal said the outreach programmes are providing an opportunity to engage directly with extremely poor families identified with the assistance of the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department. Their needs, concerns and expectations are being discussed in detail, and the feedback received will help the government design and implement welfare and development programmes more effectively.

He said the outreach campaign in Una district will continue until August 12 and will be conducted in a cluster-based format across different subdivisions.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all department heads to ensure that eligible BPL families receive the benefits of all applicable welfare schemes within the stipulated time. Emphasising coordination among departments, he said no eligible family should be left out of government assistance.

Jatin Lal said strengthening the rural economy, improving access to quality education and healthcare, and enhancing social security remain key priorities of the government and district administration. He assured residents that anyone eligible for government assistance but unable to access the benefits could approach the Deputy Commissioner’s office directly.

Former MLA Satpal Singh Raizada said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh, the Rural Development Department has identified 1.78 lakh extremely poor families across the state through an eight-phase survey. In Una district, 9,559 families have been identified through the eight phases.

He said the ‘Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar’ scheme, announced in the current financial year’s budget, is now being implemented effectively to provide social and economic support to identified extremely poor families and improve their standard of living.
