Hamirpur, August 11: The Mukhyamantri Sahara Yojana, introduced to provide financial assistance to economically weaker persons suffering from serious and long-term illnesses, is now being administered through the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment instead of the Health Department.

District Welfare Officer Chaman Lal Sharma said that the pension for the first quarter of the current financial year has been released to eligible and Aadhaar-verified beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Sahara Yojana in Hamirpur district.

The scheme aims to provide financial support to economically vulnerable patients suffering from serious and chronic illnesses such as paralysis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, malignant cancer, haemophilia, thalassemia and kidney-related diseases, among other conditions, who require prolonged treatment and assistance.

The District Welfare Officer said the entire application-to-payment process under the scheme has now been digitised through a new online platform. The initiative is intended to enable beneficiaries to access welfare services through a single-window digital system.

All applications under the scheme will now be accepted online through the official e-Kalyan portal of the Him Parivar platform.

Applicants whose applications were earlier kept pending by the Himachal Pradesh National Health Insurance Society will also be required to apply afresh to receive financial assistance.

Eligible beneficiaries can submit applications themselves online or seek assistance at the nearest Lok Mitra Kendra. Anganwadi workers will assist beneficiaries with identification, verification and other necessary procedural formalities.

For further information, eligible applicants may contact the office of the District Welfare Officer or the concerned Tehsil Welfare Officer.
