Plantation Drive Conducted By 133 Eco Task Force & Govt of Himachal

133 Eco Task Force & Govt of Himachal Pradesh jointly commemorate VAN MAHOTSAV 2026 & ‘Ek Ped Sehat Ke Naam’ Special Plantation Drive on Bhagidari & Zimmedari (Social Responsibility) Campaign in Himachal Pradesh.

Shimla, 02 August 2026: Celebrating VAN MAHOTSAV 2026 in the spirit of ‘Ek Ped Sehat Ke Naam’ on a Bahdidari & Zimmedari (Social Responsibility) initiative, 133 Eco Task Force, in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department, Gram Panchayat Basheel, Mahila Mandal, and local residents, conducted a special plantation drive during the ongoing VAN MAHOTSAV 2026 at Basheel, Distt Solan.

The plantation drive was inaugurated by Col. (Dr.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Hon’ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Social Justice & Empowerment and Sainik Welfare, Government of Himachal Pradesh, by planting the first sapling. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of afforestation for a healthier environment and appreciated the collective efforts of the Army, civil administration, and local community in conserving Himachal Pradesh’s green cover.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers, with special emphasis on motivating the local community to take ownership of the planted saplings to ensure their long-term survival. The initiative further strengthened the enduring bond between the Army and civil society while reinforcing the shared commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
