NDRF Team Deployed in Shimla for Monsoon Emergency Response

Shimla, July 1: To strengthen disaster preparedness during the monsoon season, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Shimla, has deployed a 30-member National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team in the district from July 1 to September 30, 2026. The team will be stationed at the APMC complex in Dhalli.

A coordination meeting, chaired by Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Jyoti Rana, was held with NDRF officials to review preparedness for landslides, floods, road blockages, building damage, and other monsoon-related emergencies. The meeting also focused on inter-departmental coordination, resource availability, communication systems, and strengthening emergency response mechanisms.

The district administration said all necessary monsoon preparedness measures are in place and appealed to residents to follow weather advisories and immediately report emergencies to the district disaster control room or concerned authorities.
