Industry 4.0 Awareness Programme Held for MSMEs at Shoghi Business Promotion Centre

Shimla, June 9: An awareness programme on the Rising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) initiative and Industry 4.0 technologies was organized at the Business Promotion Centre, Shoghi, to promote digital transformation among Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The programme, chaired by IPO Pramod Sharma, witnessed participation from around 30 entrepreneurs representing sectors such as food processing, furniture, automobiles, cosmetics, plastics and other industries from Shimla and Shoghi industrial areas.

Experts highlighted the benefits of advanced technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning (ML), smart manufacturing, cloud computing, ERP and CRM systems in improving productivity, quality, operational efficiency and cost management. Real-life MSME case studies and digital transformation models were also showcased.

Officials and RAMP consultants provided information on MSME registration, market access portals and various government support mechanisms available under the Ministry of MSME-backed RAMP programme. Entrepreneurs were encouraged to adopt smart technologies and leverage government schemes to enhance competitiveness and prepare for future industrial challenges.

The interactive session concluded with discussions on practical implementation of Industry 4.0 solutions at the cluster level and opportunities for strengthening Himachal Pradesh’s MSME ecosystem.
