JUIT’s “AI Odyssey” Competition Blends Artificial Intelligence with Creative Storytelling Innovation

Waknaghat, Himachal Pradesh: successfully organised “JUIT: An AI Odyssey,” a first-of-its-kind AI-powered storytelling competition that brought together creativity, artificial intelligence and immersive digital innovation.
The event was held under the leadership of Honorable CEO Manu Bhaskar Gaur and focused on the theme “Make the User a Part of the JUIT Story through AI Characters & Interactive Storytelling.”
The competition encouraged students to design interactive digital experiences that allowed users to virtually experience “A Day in the Life at JUIT” through AI-driven characters, conversational interfaces, voice synthesis, visual storytelling, animation and decision-based narratives.
A total of 20 teams comprising undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students participated enthusiastically in the event. Participants utilised advanced AI and creative tools such as ChatGPT, ElevenLabs, Midjourney, Runway, Unity, Unreal Engine and various web-based frameworks to develop innovative storytelling prototypes.
After multiple evaluation rounds, five teams were shortlisted for the grand finale and presented their AI-powered storytelling systems before an expert evaluation panel comprising Tiratha Raj Singh, Hari Singh and Saurav Kumar Singh.
The judging criteria included innovation, creativity, technical depth, narrative quality, interactivity and user experience.
The First Prize was awarded to the “Cognitive Creators” team comprising Siddhant Sharma, Ankush Bhunia, Viksit Taran and Vishal Thakur for their exceptional AI integration and immersive storytelling approach.
The “Jaadoo” team, featuring Kartikeya Bharatwaj and Aditya Singh, secured the Second Prize for their impressive creativity and technical execution.
The Third Prize was jointly awarded to “Llama 4.0,” represented by Devansh Kalia and Arsh Sharma, and “RajmaChawal,” comprising Nandini Garg, Saarvi Sharma, Saransh Agarwal and Khushi Goel for their highly innovative presentations.
Awards and certificates were distributed by Vice Chancellor R K Sharma, who congratulated participants and highlighted the growing importance of artificial intelligence, creativity and interdisciplinary innovation in shaping the future of education and technology.
The event was coordinated by PhD scholars Kunal and Akshita Chaudhary under the mentorship of Prof. Tiratha Raj Singh.
The competition emerged as a major platform showcasing how artificial intelligence can transform storytelling, experiential learning and digital engagement, while reinforcing JUIT’s commitment to fostering innovation and next-generation technological creativity among students.
