Shimla, April 28: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur has raised concerns over the delay in pension payments to HRTC pensioners, stating that even towards the end of April, beneficiaries are yet to receive their dues. He alleged that despite repeated assurances from the government, pensioners continue to face hardship, with pending medical reimbursements adding to their distress.
Thakur also criticised the state government led by Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu over the shifting of the gynaecology department from Kamla Nehru Hospital to IGMC, calling the move poorly planned and inconvenient for patients. He questioned the lack of robotic surgeries despite the introduction of new systems and raised concerns over increased treatment costs and inadequate facilities, urging the government to prioritise public welfare and healthcare accessibility.
