Chamba, April 23, 2026: Vehicular movement near Mehla Ghar on the Chakki–Chamba–Bharmour stretch of National Highway-154A will remain temporarily regulated due to ongoing landslide mitigation works.

District Magistrate Mukesh Repaswal has issued orders under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, in the interest of public safety. As per the directive, traffic will be controlled daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with vehicles being halted for 25–30 minutes every hour depending on work requirements.

The decision follows inputs from the Public Works Department’s National Highway Division, Chamba, citing active slope stabilization and landslide prevention measures in the area.

However, emergency vehicles, including ambulances, fire services, and police, will be allowed to pass without any delay.

The order will remain in force till May 31, 2026.
