Founders’ Day Celebrated with Grandeur at St. Edward’s School

St. Edward’s School celebrated its Founders’ Day with great pride and solemnity across two days, on 8 and 9 March 2026, commemorating the enduring legacy of its founders and the institution’s long tradition of excellence in education and character formation.

The occasion was graced by Chief Guest, Justice Deepak Gupta, a distinguished alumnus of the school. The programme commenced with a reflective address on the vision and ideals of the founders. The hoisting of the School Flag, symbolising the institution’s enduring commitment to faith, discipline and excellence, was followed by the School Anthem.
A highlight of the morning was the Investiture Ceremony, during which the newly elected Student Council formally assumed their responsibilities. The ceremonial sashes were presented by the Chief Guest, while the Oath of Office was administered by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Anil Sequeira.

Additionally, House Captains and Vice Captains were sworn into their roles.
Other highlights included a Guard of Honour, a spirited march past by the alumni and students and presentation of awards for academics. Addressing the gathering, Justice Deepak Gupta shared inspiring reflections from his own journey as a student.
In the school auditorium, the audience witnessed classical and dance performances by the students. Momentous highlights of the celebration were the release of The Hundred Years Tapestry- Volume 3, a special publication dedicated to the school’s alumni and legacy and the sealing of a Time Capsule preserving memories, messages and artefacts for future generations. The day concluded with a graceful Service of Light, renewing the spirit and commitment to the ideals that have guided the institution for over a century.

The second day featured a special Founders’ Day address, flag hoisting by the School Principal Rev. Fr. Anil Sequeira, melodious songs, a visit by students to the Memorial Park, an audio-visual presentation showcasing glimpses of the Centenary Celebrations and messages from Ex-Edwardians and a visit by the Outreach Club and cabinet members to the Abhi Foundation supporting special children, where students interacted with them, played games and offered essential items, reflecting the spirit of compassion and service nurtured by the school.
