Shimla, Mar 05: The Himachal Pradesh University Teachers Welfare Association submitted a memorandum to Prof. Mahavir Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University, raising several demands concerning university and college teachers.

HPUTWA President Dr. Nitin Vyas stated that the state government has kept CAS (Career Advancement Scheme) promotions of university and college teachers pending. He said the promotions have remained stalled for nearly three years, leading to growing disappointment among the teaching community.

The association urged the government to immediately restore CAS promotions, questioning why teachers are being denied promotions while employees in other government departments are receiving theirs.

The memorandum also highlighted other issues including the construction of two residential buildings for teachers and payment of the pending 13 percent Dearness Allowance (DA).
