1 min read

Shimla, Mar 05: To strengthen traffic management amid rising vehicular movement and challenging winter conditions, Shimla Police has increased the number of motorcycle-based Rapid Response Riders in the city from 7 to 19.

Considering the hilly terrain and narrow roads of Shimla, the city has been divided into different sectors to ensure efficient mobile patrolling. Motorcycle patrol teams have been deployed across key traffic zones including Circular Road (Cart Road), Sanjauli, Chhota Shimla, Panthaghati, Vikas Nagar, Kusumpti, Tara Devi, Lakkar Bazaar, Victory Tunnel and nearby high-traffic areas.

These rapid response units aim to quickly clear traffic congestion, curb illegal roadside parking, facilitate smooth movement for emergency vehicles, and provide immediate assistance to commuters, tourists, and locals facing vehicle breakdowns or route-related issues.

Shimla Police has urged residents and visitors to cooperate with traffic personnel, use designated parking spaces, and follow traffic guidelines to ensure safe and smooth movement across the city.
