Organic dyes and traditional weaving techniques are prominently showcased in the exhibits.
Addressing the gathering, Thakur said that Kullu holds a special place in Himachal Pradesh’s handicraft heritage, with the state’s main office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) located here due to the region’s strong tradition of handloom and handicraft work in almost every household. He appreciated the efforts of Hill Queen Weavers, led by Daulat Thakur, along with support from the District Cooperative Union, in successfully organizing the grand event.
The MLA praised the participating artisans for promoting eco-friendly and natural products and appealed to residents and tourists to visit the fair, purchase handcrafted items, and encourage the craftsmen. He also suggested that such craft bazaars should be organized annually and promoted during the Kullu Dussehra festival.
The fair showcases a wide range of handcrafted products made from wood, clay, paper, textiles, and other materials. From traditional Himachali woollen garments to pottery and wooden artifacts, the exhibition-cum-sale offers a diverse collection brought by artisans and weavers from various states across India.
