Shimla Police Detain 18 Habitual Drug Traffickers Under PIT NDPS Act in 25-Day Crackdown

Shimla, February 22, 2026: District Police Shimla intensified its “Zero Tolerance” campaign against narcotics by detaining 18 habitual drug traffickers under the PIT NDPS Act, 1988 over the past 25 days. Acting on preventive detention orders, the accused have been sent to jail for three months to curb organised drug supply networks. On February 21, Jubbal Police detained two repeat offenders involved in multiple NDPS cases and shifted them to Kanda Jail. Officials stated that the action aims to dismantle the drug supply chain, prevent repeat offences, and protect youth from the harmful impact of narcotics. Police have urged citizens to report any suspicious activities and cooperate in the anti-drug drive.
