National U-19 Girls’ Handball Championship to Be Hosted in Ghumarwin: Rajesh Dharmani

Ghumarwin (Bilaspur), December 19, 2025:
TCP and Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani announced that Ghumarwin will host the National U-19 Girls’ Handball Championship in February 2026. The tournament, to be held under the School Games Federation of India, will take place from February 1 to 5, 2026, with teams from various states and union territories participating. The event will be hosted by the Directorate of Higher Education, Himachal Pradesh, at Government Senior Secondary School, Ghumarwin.

Dharmani said the championship is a matter of pride not only for Himachal Pradesh, but especially for Bilaspur district and the Ghumarwin constituency. The event is expected to promote sports culture among youth and give Ghumarwin national recognition in the field of sports.

The Minister also interacted with locals, reviewed development works in the constituency, and directed officials to ensure timely completion of multipurpose sports facilities and skill development centres.
