The closing ceremony of the Poshan Maah (Nutrition Month) Campaign 2025 was held at the Government Senior Secondary School, Chhota Shimla. Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Mr. Kashyap also visited the nutrition exhibition, launched the Annual Nutrition Calendar, and participated in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” and “Ek Boota Beti Ke Naam” plantation drives. Emphasizing the importance of education, he said, “Children must focus more on their studies. Education empowers individuals and drives national progress.”

He appreciated the successful ground-level execution of the Poshan Maah campaign, which included nearly 25,000 activities across the district. Highlighting the broader vision, he remarked, “Nutrition is not just a scheme—it is a national responsibility, a culture, a movement, and a way of life.”

During the ceremony, Maitri Sanstha organized traditional rituals like Godh Bharai (baby shower) and Annaprashan (first feeding), distributed toys and 160 tracksuits to children, and felicitated achievers from various development blocks for their excellence in academics and sports.

District Programme Officer Mamta Paul shared that the campaign, held from September 17 to October 16, 2025, under the Government of India’s Poshan 2.0 Mission, aimed to raise awareness about healthy nutrition and build a healthier India. The initiative focused on themes such as obesity control, early childhood care and education (“Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi”), infant feeding practices, men’s participation, and promotion of local produce. Awareness drives included street plays, social media campaigns (#PoshanMaah2025), and community radio broadcasts, engaging panchayats, self-help groups, youth clubs, and departments like health, education, and agriculture.

Outstanding achievers from across the district—including national-level players in cricket, kho-kho, boxing, wrestling, skating, and shooting, along with academic toppers—were honoured for their contributions.
