Humour Anthology ‘Aalasya Mev Jayate’ by Mridula Srivastava Launched in Bhutan

Shimla, September 14. The satire anthology ‘Aalasya Mev Jayate’ by noted Himachali writer Mridula Srivastava was launched at the Bhutan-India Literature Festival held in Thimphu. On this occasion, she was also conferred the prestigious ‘International Sahitya Shiromani Award.’
The ceremony was graced by Shweta Singh ‘Uma’, a poet from Moscow, Russia, as the Chief Guest, and prominent young Bhutanese poet Sitamaya Rai as the Guest of Honour. The event was organized by Krantidhara Sahitya Academy in collaboration with literary institutions of Bhutan to mark Hindi Diwas, with participation from writers of India, Nepal, Bhutan, Russia, and the USA.
Academy President and Festival Convenor Dr. Vijay Pandit noted that after her acclaimed short story collections ‘Kaash Pandori Na Hoti’ and ‘Jalpash’, Mridula Srivastava has ventured into the world of satire. Her new anthology ‘Aalasya Mev Jayate’ features 40 satirical essays, blending a narrative style with sharp linguistic flair.
Mridula Srivastava’s stories have been widely published in national and international journals and translated into English, French, and Nepali. She has also received several distinguished literary honours.
