Mandi, July 27 — In a major academic reform, Sardar Patel University (SPU) will now conduct centralized online counselling for Postgraduate and B.Ed admissions across all affiliated colleges. This marks the first time that students won’t have to visit multiple colleges for counselling.

Candidates can now track their seat status online, and once a seat is confirmed, they’ll receive an allotment letter digitally. The process will ensure transparency by strictly adhering to merit and reservation rosters.

The online counselling will be conducted in three phases. If seats remain vacant after these rounds, colleges will be allowed to fill them as per university directions. This system applies to nearly 1600 B.Ed seats and PG seats across 25 subjects in SPU and affiliated institutions. Only management quota seats will be filled independently by B.Ed colleges.

SPU has outsourced the admission and counselling process to a Mohali-based institute to ensure smooth operations.

Applicants can apply till July 28, and the first allotment list is expected by July 31.

“This initiative will save time and effort for students while ensuring a fair, transparent process,” said Prof. Sunil Thakur, Dean Academic Affairs, SPU.
