· Emphasizes to adopt innovation and sustainable urban development in state
Town & Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani while chairing a review meeting of HIMUDA here today said in the present era of technological advancement the HIMUDA must adopt modern technology-driven and innovative practices in its functioning to meet the evolving needs of society. The government was committed to promote well-planned urbanization in the state and make special focus on sustainable and eco-friendly development and this approach would ensure balanced growth while preserving the State’s natural environment, stated the Minister.
The Minister directed that all the projects should be completed in a time bound manner with a focus on green initiatives. He said that an online system would be set up for the quick resolution of project-related issues. The government was planning to provide incentives to support youth-led initiatives and strengthen the start-up ecosystem in the state. He asked HIMUDA to explore setting up a start-up fund and to promote start-ups and apprenticeship opportunities.
Sh. Dharmani said HIMUDA was committed to provide affordable and quality housing facilities in Himachal Pradesh. Keeping in view the vulnerability to natural disasters he stressed the need to develop projects while protecting the local ecology, thereby building greater public and investor confidence in HIMUDA.
He directed the officers to work on developing theme-based colonies to make HIMUDA’s projects more attractive to both residents and investors.
Sh. Dharmani said that the first phase of the Mountain City Project at Jathia Devi was progressing well. This project would help ease congestion in Shimla city. The proposed state-of-the-art multi-purpose building at Vikasnagar would be among the most modern structures in Shimla. Apart from this more green and eco-friendly building designs were also being prioritized across the state.
