HP Forest Department to Recruit 100 Forest Guards on Contract Basis

Shimla, July 16 – The Himachal Pradesh Forest Department is set to recruit 100 Forest Guards on a contractual basis, aiming to strengthen field operations across various forest circles. The recruitment process has been initiated, and the detailed schedule will be released soon.

The distribution of vacancies includes:

  • Bilaspur – 6 posts
  • Chamba – 10 posts
  • Dharamshala – 10 posts
  • Hamirpur – 12 posts
  • Kullu – 6 posts
  • Mandi – 17 posts
  • Nahan – 10 posts
  • Rampur – 4 posts
  • Shimla – 1 post
  • Solan – 10 posts
  • Wildlife Wing Shimla – 4 posts
  • Wildlife Wing Dharamshala – 3 posts
  • Great Himalayan National Park (Shamshi) – 4 posts

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Sameer Rastogi, has issued instructions to all Circle Conservators of Forests (CCFs) and concerned divisions to prepare the roster for these recruitments. This move aims to address the shortage of manpower, where in many areas, a single forest guard is handling 5 to 6 forest beats, impacting efficiency and forest protection efforts.
