The ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Regional Station, Shimla, in collaboration with the State Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture, successfully concluded the nationwide Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (May 29 – June 12, 2025) at Mandor Ghat Panchayat, Basantpur Block, Shimla district.

The campaign promoted crop diversification, climate-resilient farming, sustainable agricultural practices, and awareness about welfare schemes like PM-KISAN, RKVY, MIDH, and PMFBY. Special emphasis was laid on maize cultivation through line sowing techniques to enhance yield and resource efficiency.

Farmers were educated on soil testing, nutrient management, organic pest control, mixed farming systems, and the use of anti-hail nets for crops like apples (Anna, Golden Dorset). Effective aphid control methods, such as neem oil spray and infected leaf removal, were also demonstrated.

This initiative aims to bridge the gap between traditional farming and modern technology, empowering farmers towards a more profitable and sustainable future.
