133 Infantry Battalion Eco Dogra celebrates World Environment Day

The 133 Infantry Battalion (TA) Eco Dogra, a pioneer force in afforestation and environmental conservation, observed World Environment Day 2025. The Battalion organizes a series of activities from 3rd to 5th June across various locations in the state including Kufri, Tattapani and Aut. The battalion organized plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns, plastic waste removal, awareness lectures and community engagement initiatives to promote environmental consciousness.

At Navodaya School, officers of the Eco Task Force delivered lectures on the importance of environmental conservation, followed by a cleanliness drive and plantation of saplings by students, teachers and troops. A similar programme was held at ITI Sunni where students and faculty actively participated in lectures, tree plantation and cleanliness activities conducted by A Company of the battalion. In Larji, the Company led a plantation drive at the Government Middle School. Students, teachers, Mahila Mandal members, health officials and local representatives participated in the plantation drive. A lecture was also delivered to spread awareness on the importance of environmental preservation.

In Kufri, the troops along with the local community, conducted plantation and cleanliness drives at Chinni Bangla and Himalayan Nature Park. At the unit location in Kufri, an awareness session was held for Rotary Club volunteers, followed by a mega tree plantation drive in which the youth of the Rotary Club and troops of 133 Eco Task Force (DOGRA) participated enthusiastically.
