International Conference on AI & Innovation Held at APG

Over 250 Global Scholars Unite at APG Shimla University

APG Shimla University concluded its prestigious two-day International Conference on Innovation in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Science & Technology on Friday with remarkable success. Held in hybrid mode, the conference attracted participation from more than 250 academicians, researchers, professionals, scholars, and students from across the globe, all contributing under the theme “Shaping the Future Through AI-Driven Innovations in Science and Technology.”

The inaugural session of the conference was graced by Ms. Poonam Thakur, Assistant Commissioner, State Taxation & Excise Department, Shimla, as the Chief Guest. The two-day event featured research presentations on science, technology, and AI-driven innovation, keynote addresses, technical sessions, and panel discussions.

Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rajender Singh Chauhan welcomed the guests, researchers, and participants, and in his inaugural remarks, emphasized the transformative role of AI in sectors like healthcare, forensic science, and education. He spoke about the importance of science and technology in driving human development and innovation.

The conference featured expert sessions from distinguished scholars and researchers including Prof. Dr. Vinni Sharma, Dr. Ashish Sharma, Dr. Karan Singh, Mr. Aman Thakur, Dr. Krishan Modi, and Dr. Rahul Priyadarshi. On behalf of APG Shimla University, Dean Academics Prof. Dr. Anand Mohan Sharma, Dean Engineering Prof. Dr. Ankit Thakur, Conference Chair Prof. Dr. B.S. Chauhan, Dr. Maninder Kaur, and Conference Conveners Lalit Kumar, Saurav Saini, and Atul Kumar Dubey, along with student coordinators, faculty members, and volunteers, played a pivotal role in the smooth execution of the event.

The conference also saw participation from institutions including Punjabi University Patiala, Himachal Pradesh University Shimla, Chandigarh University, Chitkara University, Lovely Professional University, among others. Their participation fostered a healthy academic exchange and encouraged young researchers to explore new innovations. The support of corporate sponsors SJVN Ltd. and UltraTech Cement played a crucial role in the smooth execution of the conference. Their contribution supported speaker engagements, logistics, and recognition of outstanding research through awards.

During the valedictory session, Chancellor Er. Suman Vikrant felicitated the best research posters, working models, and research paper presenters with certificates and awards. In his closing remarks, he appreciated the university’s visionary initiatives and emphasized the importance of responsible AI innovations for national development. He highlighted the growing global relevance of AI in shaping future technologies and applauded APG Shimla University’s continued commitment to fostering innovation for social, economic, and human progress.

The conference concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Ankit Thakur, Dean, School of Engineering & Technology, followed by the National Anthem and a group photograph of all attendees.
