Tensions Affect Air Travel: Over 130 Flights Cancelled at Delhi Airport

1 min read

New Delhi, May 9 — Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, around 135 flights at Delhi Airport have been cancelled, including 65 arrivals and 66 departures. According to The Indian Express, although all four runways and terminals at the airport are operational, changes in airspace regulations have disrupted flight schedules.

IndiGo and Air India have cancelled nearly 10 North India-bound flights, impacting destinations like Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, and Dharamshala. Air India has also diverted two international flights to Delhi.

Following India’s retaliatory strike, many international airlines have begun bypassing Pakistani airspace entirely, significantly affecting global aviation routes.
