Hamirpur, May 5 – BJP MP from Hamirpur and former Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur has slammed the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government for its inaction in identifying and deporting legal and illegal Pakistani nationals residing in the state. Speaking at a protest organized by the BJP in response to the recent terrorist killings in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, Thakur submitted a memorandum to the district administration, demanding immediate action.
Thakur said the brutal killing of 27 innocent Hindu pilgrims by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists had shaken the entire nation and required a strong diplomatic and internal response. He asserted that under the Modi government, many states had begun the process of deporting unauthorized Pakistani residents, but Himachal Pradesh had failed to take any visible steps in this regard.
Referring to the Sanjauli mosque land dispute, Thakur accused the Waqf Board of occupying land without valid documents and praised the court’s decision declaring the mosque structure illegal. He alleged that the Waqf Board was operating with a mindset of impunity, stating, “They want to occupy but won’t show papers.”
He urged the state government to act decisively in the interest of national security and public trust.
