HPNLU Hosts 3rd V. R. Krishna Iyer Law Lecture on Humane Justice

The memorial lecture, titled “The Humane Side of Justice,” was delivered by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Deepak Gupta, former Supreme Court Judge, and presided over by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Acting Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena welcomed distinguished guests, emphasizing the relevance of a compassionate approach in law. Justice Gupta discussed empathy and humanity in judicial practices, illustrating how Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer’s landmark judgments continue to guide the legal community. Justice Chauhan highlighted the judiciary’s duty to ensure justice remains both fair and humane, calling the Constitution a living document that shapes justice delivery.
