Pensioners will no longer need to submit physical documents to create a Digital Life Certificate (DLC). Now, with a simple visit by the local postman, who scans their face and fingerprints, pensioners can easily generate their DLC from home. They only need to provide their Aadhaar number and pension details. India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) has signed an agreement with the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare, launching a nationwide campaign from November 1 to 30 across 800 cities and towns. The doorstep service for DLC generation will cost Rs. 70, including GST. Once the process is complete, pensioners will receive an SMS for verification, and the certificate can be viewed online after a day.
