1 min readDeputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania announced that global conservationists and geological experts will be invited to study and revitalize the Dal Lake at Naddi in Dharamshala and Khajjiar Lake in Chamba. This initiative, directed by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, aims to address the depleting water levels and deteriorating conditions of these iconic lakes, which are crucial for local ecology, tourism, and religious significance.
Pathania highlighted that Rs. 31 lakh has been spent on Dal Lake’s beautification since 2004, but ongoing water seepage issues are impacting its aquatic life and local economy. Kangra Deputy Commissioner is also in touch with Anand Malligavad, India’s renowned “Lake Man,” to find a lasting solution.
Khajjiar Lake, revered for its religious importance, will also undergo a scientific study. Pathania emphasized that these efforts will restore the lakes to their pristine glory and boost tourism.
