DC and SP Visit Samej Village, Hold Meeting with Flood Victims

Shimla, August 17, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap and Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi visited Samej village in Rampur today to meet with flood-affected residents. During the meeting, local administration briefed the officials on the relief materials provided and the ongoing relief efforts in the area.

Anupam Kashyap assured the local residents that the search operations to locate those swept away in the severe flood will continue systematically. The search teams have already covered nearly 85 kilometers and will extend the operation to the Sunni area until further notice.

The DC also mentioned that the restoration of roads and other infrastructure projects in the area is ongoing to provide relief to the affected residents. During the meeting, officials provided detailed updates on the search operations. Prior to the meeting, the DC and SP inspected the damage to the village and the school building.
