HIMCARE Funds Reimbursement Defended by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthy

Shimla, 18th July 2024 — Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthy rebutted the claims made by senior BJP leaders regarding the non-issuance of funds to hospitals treating patients with HIMCARE cards. Awasthy emphasized that the state government provides cashless treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh per year per family under the HIMCARE scheme, and the reimbursement to empanelled hospitals is an ongoing process.

During the current financial year, Rs. 100 crores have been reimbursed to 283 empanelled hospitals. This includes Rs. 1 crore each to hospitals in Chamba, Bilaspur, and Sirmaur districts, Rs. 10 crores to hospitals in Hamirpur district, and Rs. 10 crore to PGIMER, Chandigarh. Additionally, Rs. 25 crores have been allocated to Shimla district, including Rs. 23 crores to IGMC, Shimla, and Rs. 29.45 crores to Kangra district, with Rs. 15 crores allocated to Dr. Rajinder Prasad Medical College and Hospital at Tanda.

Further reimbursements include Rs. 1.20 crore to Kullu, Rs. 4.30 crore to Mandi, and Rs. 8 crore each to Solan and Una districts.
