Woman Found Dead in Solan, Husband in Custody on Suspicion of Murder

In a shocking incident, the discovery of a woman’s body in Saprun, a few kilometers away from Solan city in Himachal Pradesh, has sent shockwaves through the area. The victim has been identified as Rashmi, the wife of Ashwani Kumar, a resident of Saprun. While the police recovered the body on Saturday, the formal inspection was conducted on Sunday in the presence of the victim’s family.
The police received information early Saturday morning from Solan Hospital regarding the arrival of a deceased woman. The body was then taken to the mortuary for post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased were informed at their home in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh.
Prior to the arrival of the victim’s family, the post-mortem was not conducted. Upon their arrival, the examination revealed signs of injuries on the body, including marks of strangulation on the neck. The body has been sent to IGMC (Indira Gandhi Medical College) Shimla for further post-mortem examination.
As per the statement recorded under Section 154 of the CrPC (Criminal Procedure Code), Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh informed that a case has been registered under Section 302 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) on Sunday. The victim’s husband, Ashwani, has been taken into custody based on suspicion, and further interrogation is underway.
This incident has raised concerns and sparked investigations into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s untimely demise, with authorities actively pursuing the case to ensure justice is served.
