Political Tensions Rise in Himachal as BJP Claims Imminent Shortfall in Government Majority

2 min read

Shimla, March 12: Political unrest looms over Himachal as the BJP continues to assert an impending shift in power due to the alleged minority status of the current government. In response, Chief Minister’s Chief Media Advisor Naresh Chauhan counters, attributing Himachal’s challenges to the failures of the BJP model in the state.

Chauhan stated that recent political events in Himachal Pradesh are well-known to all. The Congress party formed the government in the state with the majority support of the public, but six defected legislators betrayed both the party and their local constituents, marking a regrettable episode. He expressed confidence that the people of the state would respond to this betrayal appropriately. Chauhan claimed that the BJP is entirely responsible for all these political developments, attempting to topple the Congress government in Himachal but failing to do so.

In contrast, Chauhan asserted that the Congress party in Himachal Pradesh will fulfill all its electoral promises, challenging the BJP to break its silence on the matter. He affirmed that the Congress-led government would continue its developmental works in the state. Chauhan questioned the BJP and Jai Ram Thakur, asking whether the state employees should not receive the O.P.S and women should not be entitled to the promised 1500. He emphasized that the current Congress government is attentive to the needs of all sections of society in the state.

Furthermore, Chauhan criticized the six expelled members, alleging that they are avoiding facing their local constituents and are touring different areas instead. He accused them of betraying the voters and tarnishing the political atmosphere of Himachal Pradesh. Chauhan concluded by stating that the Congress government is working for the welfare of the people and safeguarding the cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh
