Possible Heavy Rainfall Expected on August 23 – 24, Orange Alert Issued

Shimla, August 21: The impact of rainfall could once again be felt in Himachal Pradesh. The Meteorological Centre Shimla has provided information that heavy rainfall is likely to occur in the state on the upcoming dates of August 23 and 24. According to the Meteorological Centre, during this period, eight districts of the state are expected to remain sensitive. As a result, an orange alert has been issued for these eight districts.

Director of the Meteorological Centre Shimla, Surendra Pal, mentioned that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh on August 23 and 24.

The eight districts of the state – Sirmaur, Shimla, Solan, Hamirpur, Kangra, Chamba, Bilaspur, and Mandi – could experience heavy rainfall. An orange alert has been issued for these districts.

Furthermore, certain districts of the state have been put on yellow alert. Surendra Pal explained that during this period, there is a potential for flash floods, cloud bursts, and landslides. Therefore, the Meteorological Centre has issued advisory warnings.
