HP bags Gold medal for Digital Excellence in Rural Sector

• Secure two silver medals in ET Government DigiTech Awards-2023

Himachal Pradesh has once again made its mark in the realm of Digital Technology by bagging 3 prestigious awards at the ET Government DigiTech Awards-2023. The State’s exemplary initiatives in various categories have earned these awards including, one Gold medal and two Silver medals in its kitty. The Award ceremony is scheduled to take place in Goa on 5th August, 2023.
Expressing pleasure over this remarkable achievement, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu praised the efforts of the department of Digital Technologies and Governance. He credited the department’s dedication and hard work for the state’s success in the coveted award categories.
The Gold medal was secured by Himachal Pradesh for its outstanding performance in the category of Digital Excellence in Rural Sector. The State’s initiative for comprehensive consultancy on design, development, maintenance, hosting, DNS registration and management of E-commerce websites in the State has won this award.
Amongst the two Silver medals the first medal was secured for being a Leader in Emerging Technologies Initiatives, a testament to Himachal Pradesh’s forward-thinking approach and adoption of cutting-edge technologies for taking initiative of Him-Parivar. The second Silver medal has been achieved in the category of the Innovative Use of Technology in e-Governance for Digital Transformation, for its initiative of Design and development of HPSHIVA MIS portal, which highlights the State’s efforts to modernizing government processes, making them more efficient, transparent, and accessible to the people.
“The State Government is making earnest efforts to embrace digital and emerging technologies across various government departments to provide better services to the people of the State thereby making governance more streamlined and responsive to their needs”, said the Chief Minister. The State Government was committed to digital transformation and its vision to achieve Governance through digital technologies, he added.
