International Women’s Day Celebrated at Shoolini University

Shoolini University celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm and dedication. The theme of the celebration was “Embrace Equity,” highlighting the need to ensure equal opportunities and rights for women.
Prof. Prem Kumar Khosla, Chancellor Shoolini University, was the chief guest of the event. He shared his thoughts on the importance of gender equality in the current social fabric and emphasised the university’s efforts to promote women’s empowerment.
Different faculties at the university actively participated in the event, preparing and presenting various competitions in honour of women. These competitions included debates, quiz competitions, and cultural performances. The event was won by the Faculty of Pharmacy, with the Faculty of Management Science coming in second place.
Aarshi Rai from the Faculty of Liberal Arts won the first prize in creative writing, Astha from the Faculty of Sciences won the first prize in the elocution competition, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences were declared winners of the quiz competition, and Arusha from the Faculty of Legal Sciences won the first prize in the woman of substance category. Deepika Dahiya from the Faculty of Management Sciences and Nishant from the Faculty of Sciences were the runners-up in the woman of substance and man of substance categories, respectively. The winners were rewarded with trophies and certificates.
“Embracing equity, the theme of International Women’s Day, is a must, not just nice to have. We at Shoolini are invested in this cause and hope to raise awareness through various events,” said Mrs. Poonam Nanda, Dean Student Welfare Shoolini University. She further added that through these events, Shoolini University reiterated its commitment to encouraging a safe and inclusive environment for women and fostering their growth and development. The event was coordinated by the Office of the Dean Students Welfare.
