HP- Police to hosts AIP Water

Shimla, Mar 1 – Himachal Pradesh Police would organise the 22nd All India Police Water Sports Championship from March 2-6, 2023 at Androli, District Una, HP.

Police spokesperson informed here on Wednesday that this national level championship of water sports for the first time at Androli in Una district . In which swimmers and police sports msn from all over country is already arriving . The venue has been testified by most experts in the field of water sports as one of the finest in the country. The theme chosen for the meet is “Experience the waters of Himachal”.
Himachal Pradesh is blessed with a number of rivers and several large water bodies. There is tremendous potential for water sports in the State. H.P. Police hopes that this event shall give a huge fillip to this untapped potential of the State. We also hope that the State and its youth would benefit tremendously from this event and it would generate huge employment opportunities for the youth. Total 460 participants from 19 organizations (State Police and Central Police organizations) are participating in this event. This includes 10 teams of women sports persons. These teams will compete in Rowing, Canoeing and Kayaking competitions. The opening ceremony shall be presided over by the Deputy Chief Minister, HP,Sh. Mukesh Agnihotri on 2ndMarch, 2023 at 11:00 AM. A cultural programme to showcase the rich culture heritage of Himachal Pradesh is being organized on 2ndMarch, 2023 at Lata Mangeshkar Kala Kendra at Una followed by
a dinner hosted for the participants by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, HP.
Shri Sanjay Kundu, IPS, the Director General of Police, HP will be hosting a Bara Khana for the participants on 3rd March, 2023. The Himachal Pradesh Police Orchestra i.e. “Harmony of the Pines” will grace the occasion by their musical performance on 3rd March, 2023 at Lata Mangeshkar Kala Kendra,

Vikramaditya Singh, PWD and Youth Services & Sports Minister, Himachal Pradesh would also host a dinnerfor all the participants on 5th March, 2023 and will also preside over the closing ceremony of this event on 6th March, 2023 at thevenue i.e Androli, District Una, HP. HP Police has made all extensive preparations for organizing this event successfully which includes arrangements of water sports equipments,
accommodation and transportation for participants came from across the country
and site preparation as well.
