Announces indoor stadium at Hamirpur
Hamirpur, Feb 04 – Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was accorded a grand welcome by thousands of people who gathered at Hamirpur today.
While addressing the public meeting at Gandhi Chowk in Hamirpur, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed gratitude to the people for their whole-hearted support. He said that the State government will take necessary steps for the all-round development of district Hamirpur. He said that Dr. Radhakrishnan Hamirpur Medical College would emerge as a pioneering college in the state and it will be equipped with the latest technologies. He said that after the construction of this college, people will not have to visit other hospitals for specialized services. He also announced the opening of Nursing College in the Medical College.
The Chief Minister said that adequate funds would be provided in the budget to construct a new bus stand at Hamirpur. While announcing the opening of a big indoor stadium in Hamirpur, he said that the government would provide an adequate budget for its construction. He said that the development of Gasota Mahadev Temple from a tourism point of view and the opening of the Veterinary College in Taal will be considered.
Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the State government was determined to make Himachal the most developed state of the country. He said that in the very first meeting of the cabinet, the present government has restored the old pension by fulfilling the demand of 1.36 lakh employees. The process has also been started to provide Rs. 1500 per month to women.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government will fulfill all its promises in a phased manner. He said that a provision of Rs. 1000 crore is being made to strengthen the rural economy. The government would buy cow milk from farmers at the rate of Rs. 80 per liter and buffalo milk at Rs.100 per litre. He said that the motto of the present state government is not to enjoy the power but to bring ‘Vyavstha Parivartan’ into the state for which active cooperation of people is necessary. State’s economic situation will be back on track only through collective efforts.
The Chief Minister said that the entire state is his family and he is working 24×7 to take Himachal to new heights of development. He has been serving people for more than 40 years in his political career and is well aware of the sufferings of the people. He said that since the first day of the formation of the government, he has been working for the upliftment of the weaker section of society. The age for taking care of orphan children has been increased to 27 years and they will also be given four biswa land to build a house. The government will also bear the expenses of their higher education.
Earlier, MLA Hamirpur, Ashish Sharma welcomed Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and presented him with a memento.
MLA Bhoranj, Suresh Kumar said that Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has come as a ray of hope for the state. He expressed gratitude to the high command for handing over the responsibility of the Chief Minister to him. He said that the state government is committed to providing transparent, fair and accountable governance.
MLA Badsar, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal said that Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu struggled throughout his life to become Chief Minister. He said that the Chief Minister is accessible to the general public. He welcomed the decision of the state government to promote electric vehicles which would benefit the people of the state.
Earlier, the Chief Minister also paid tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
Political Advisor to Chief Minister Sunil Sharma and Kangra Central Co-operative Bank Chairman Kuldeep Singh Pathania also addressed the gathering.
Former MLAs Anita Verma, Manjit Singh Dogra, Prem Kaushal, Pushpinder Verma, Rajender Jar, Deputy Commissioner Debasweta Banik, SP Akriti Sharma, senior leaders of the Congress party and others were also present on the occasion.
