17 injured in separate road accidents in Kangra

Dharamshala, Sep 30 – Seventeen people were injured in three separate road accidents in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district in the last 24 hours, police said here on Friday.

The injured have been admitted to different hospitals.
Kangra District Police Chief Khushal Chand Sharma told UNI that 14 persons were injured when a bus on way from Palampur to Dharàmshala dashed against a tree at Dhrang in the Palampur subdivision on Friday.

SSP said that the driver was ‘rash and negligently driving the bus and lost his control on the bus which dashed against a tree.
He said that five injured passengers were rushed to Dr. Rajendra Prasad Govt Medical College Tanda and the remaining nine passengers with minor injuries were rushed to Civil Hospital Nagrota Bagwan.
Police registered a case under sections 279 and 337 against the bus driver.

SSP further said that two persons were injured in another road accident when a motorcycle dashed against another motorcycle at Dharamshala near the post office in Kangra district on Thursday.
He said that in another hit-and-run accident a pedestrian was injured when he was hit by a speedy motorcycle at Paniyala Khad falling under Endora Police station in this district on Thursday. Police registered cases under relevant sections of IPC and MVA in both cases.

All the three injured persons in these two accidents were rushed to the nearby hospitals and the investigation was in progress.
