35 Filmmakers Bring City To Life With Shimla Film Festival
1 min readShimla – The three days long 7th International Shimla Film Festival organized by Himalayan Velocity in association with Language Art and Culture, started here today with the screening of 8 films at the historic Gaiety Theater.
The festival aims at showcasing films catering to different genres that can entertain classes as well as masses. Total 58 films have been shortlisted for screening including local as well as of national level. This year more than 35 filmmakers (Including international directors) are in City to participate in this Film Festival.
The festival was inaugurated by V.S. Kundu, additional chief secretary Govt. of Haryana and Former Director General Films Division and Dr Pankaj lalit, Director LAC.
Parallel screening of the Film Festival was done at Model Central Jail Kanda, Shimla and inaugurated by S.P Jail, Sh. Jaigopal Lodhta.
The festival was started with the Film booklet released by V.S. Kundu at the Gaiety Theater. The screening started with Eva, Sohan Lal.
Total 8 Films were screened today, including, Ziro Kilometers by Shamas Nawab Siddiqui, and Sumitra Bhave- A Parallel Jour by Dr. Santosh Pathare. Hatti, We exist- Vivek Tiwari and Breaking the ice by – Dr. Devkanya Thakur, films by Himachali Filmmakers were screened and appreciated by the audience. Irani film, 12 o’clock by Sajad Soleymani also got a good response.
