Woman from Haryana Arrested for Jewelry Theft in Shimla
1 min readShimla, 03 February: The Sadar Police have arrested a woman from Sonipat, Haryana, on charges of theft. The accused woman was presented in court on Monday and was sent to police custody.
The incident occurred on 31 December 2024, when Shimla resident Kusumlata lodged a complaint about the theft of her jewelry at the Sadar police station. According to the complaint, her relative Sonia had called her, stating that she was coming to Shimla for a job and wanted to stay at her place for a few days. Kusumlata, due to their relationship, allowed Sonia to stay at her house. Sonia stayed for four days and then returned to Sonipat.
Kusumlata reported that the following day, when she checked her wardrobe, the gold jewelry kept inside was missing. Suspecting that her relative Sonia had stolen it, Kusumlata tried to contact her, but Sonia did not answer the calls. Following this, Kusumlata filed a police report.
The police investigated the matter and arrested Sonia. They are now questioning her about the whereabouts of the stolen jewelry and whether anyone else was involved in the theft. The police have stated that further action will be taken after the interrogation.
