Vikramaditya Singh Announces ₹1.50 Crore for Road Renovation in Rohru
Shimla, July 14, 2024: Public Works and Urban Development Minister, Vikramaditya Singh, attended the 5th Sanjeevani Talent Award Ceremony “Shaan-e-Rohru” organized by the Sanjeevani Sahara Committee at the Government College Seema Auditorium in Rohru.
Singh, who has familial ties to Rohru, acknowledged the contributions of the late former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh to the area’s development. He announced ₹10 lakh each for developmental works in the Chirgaon Nagar Panchayat and the Rohru Municipal Council, and ₹1.50 crore for the renovation of various roads in the Rohru region. Additionally, ₹13 lakh was allocated for a sound and light system in the college auditorium, and ₹51,000 for the Sanjeevani Sahara Committee.
Highlighting the swift pace of the current government’s developmental efforts, Singh mentioned the initiation of the Ratnadi road renovation within 15 days, along with the construction of a retaining wall near Seema College. Formalities for the multi-purpose building at Seema College are also being expedited. Singh plans to visit the Dodra Kwar area soon to accelerate development projects there.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary and local MLA Mohan Lal Brakta, attending as a guest of honor, praised the Sanjeevani Sahara Committee for providing an excellent platform for talented youths and supporting the needy. He requested more funds for regional road projects, mentioning the successful metalling of 5 km of the Sungri Khadral road, costing ₹1 crore.
Several distinguished guests, including Zila Parishad Chairman Chandra Prabha Negi, Vice Chairman Surendra Retka, JIP member Monita Chauhan, Rohru MC Vice Chairman Sujay Agarwal, DSP Ravindra Negi, and various committee members, attended the event.
Awards and Recognitions:
Academics: Students excelling in the 10th grade from Rohru, Ransar, Chirgaon, and Tikker blocks were honored.
Sports: International athletes from the Rohru region, including Renuka Thakur, Jyotika Dutta, and others, received the “Shaan-e-Rohru” award. National athletes were also recognized for their achievements.
