1 min readShimla Dec 13: PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh called on Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, in New Delhi, expressing gratitude for the allocation of ₹350 crore under CRIF, which will significantly enhance road connectivity and economic growth in Himachal Pradesh.
He also thanked the Union Minister for exempting ropeway projects from forest clearances, a decision that will expedite tourism-related infrastructure.
The Minister proposed an alternate road from Ghatasni to Kullu via Shilha-Badhani-Bhubujot with a tunnel at Bhubujot, reducing NH144’s distance by 40 km and boosting tourism in Kullu. Additionally, he sought approval for:
1. A ₹125.57 crore double-lane bridge over the Beas River between Basantipattan and Kheri, connecting Kangra and Hamirpur under Bharat Setu Yojna.
2. A ₹19.09 crore single-lane steel truss motorable bridge over the Beas River at Pandoh on Pandoh-Shiva Road in Mandi district.
Gadkari assured full support, reiterating the Centre’s commitment to strengthening Himachal’s infrastructure.
