Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate Celebrating Science and Technology Achievements Over 75 years
2 min readHimachal Pradesh Council for Science Technology and Environment (HIMCOSTE) is celebrating Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate, a week long program during 22nd-28th February, 2022. Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate is a pan India program to showcase Science, Technology and Innovation from every part of the country. This event will be held simultaneously in 75 locations across the country as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The objective of Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate is to celebrate science and technology achievements over the 75 years through the programmes that inspire our youth. The event will bring to the fore stories of people in science who made the achievements that proved to be landmark in Science and Technology of our nation. This will help reinforce the commitment of the scientific community towards social and economic development of the country.
The week long program will be held at Centre of Excellence, Government Post Graduate College, Sanjauli, Shimla. The program will commence with inaugural ceremony on 22nd February, 2022. Four themes have been recognized for the week long celebration namely, Annals of History of Science, Milestones of modern Science and Technology, Swadeshi Paramparik Inventions and Innovations, Transforming India. These themes will be covered on different days and experts shall provide an insight through their talks on various topics relevant to these themes. In addition there will be Science quiz competitions, exhibition of science models and screening of award winning documentaries on the relevant themes. Students of nearby educational institutions will be attending this event.
The week long programme ‘‘Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate” shall culminate on 28th February, 2022 with the Yuva Vigyan Puraskar celebrations on 28th February, 2022 on the occasion of National Science Day-2022. The Yuva Vigyan Puraskar Yojna was launched by the State Govt. in the year-2018. The objectives of the scheme is to encourage the students to adopt the science as career and in their future studies. Under the scheme an award of Rs. 10,000/- to 1,00,000/- is awarded every year to the top ten meritorious students of 10+2 (Science Stream) of Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education.
