USD 200 m aid for Shimla water supply : Minster

Shimla, Dec 20 – World Bank has sanctioned 200 million US Dollar financial assistance to Shimla Municipal Corporation Supply Scheme, stated Union Minister for Urban Housing Kaushal Kishore while replying to a question asked by Member of Rajya Sabha Indu Bala Goswami in Rajya Sabha today.

He said this amount has been approved in two parts, under which an amount of US $ 40 million has been approved for development policy loan and US $ 160 million for the program for results. Union Minister also informed the Rajya Sabha member that World Bank is scheduled to complete this scheme by the year 2026. For the improvement of already Commissioned Shimla water supply schemes under AMRUT MISSION funds Rs 76.03 Cr have been provided for maintenance and upgrade.
