Solan, April 22: The two-day Annual Undergraduate Symposium at Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) commenced on April 22, highlighting the creativity and research potential of first-year B.Tech students.

Conceptualised and organised by the Office of the Dean (Research and Internationalization), led by Prof. Sudhir Syal, the symposium aims to promote research-oriented learning and identify promising talent to strengthen the university’s research culture.

The first day featured a wide range of presentations and prototype displays, covering diverse themes such as predictive models, CRISPR-based studies, ideas related to breast and prostate cancer, travel planning systems, and drone technologies. A notable aspect across projects was the integration of machine learning tools, reflecting early interdisciplinary thinking among students.

The symposium provides a platform for undergraduate students to present their ideas and engage with experts. Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajendra Kumar Sharma interacted with participants, turning the sessions into an enriching learning experience.

Faculty members including Prof. P.K. Gupta, Prof. Jata Shankar, Prof. Tiratha Raj Singh, and Dr. Santu Baidya served as judges, offering valuable feedback to the students. The event was coordinated by student coordinators Devansh Kalia and Abhinandit Singh along with their team.
