Tragic Incident at Chamba’s Nature Valley Resort on New Year’s Eve

A tragic incident unfolded at Nature Valley Resort in Banikhet, Chamba, on New Year’s Eve, claiming the life of General Manager Rajinder Singh. Around 1:30 AM, a heated argument and scuffle between Front Manager Sachin and constable Anup from the Tissa region escalated, leading all three to fall from the roadside into the parking area.
Rajinder Singh succumbed to his injuries, while the police constable and Front Manager were hospitalized with injuries. The altercation reportedly began after a New Year’s party ended and staff invited the constable for dinner, during which a dispute erupted between him and the Front Manager. Rajinder Singh tried to intervene, resulting in the tragic accident.
Dalhousie DSP Hemant Thakur stated that preliminary investigations suggest no intention to murder, and the case is being examined under negligent homicide aspects. CCTV footage is being analyzed, and statements from witnesses are being recorded. The incident casts a somber shadow over New Year’s celebrations in the region.
