CBI Takes Over Vimal Negi Death Case
The Himachal Pradesh government has handed over the Vimal Negi death case to the CBI, following a High Court directive. The FIR, initially registered in New Shimla under BNS sections 108 and 3(5), has been re-registered in Delhi. A CBI SIT has been formed for investigation. Amid internal conflicts over the probe, the DGP, ACS (Home), and SP Shimla have been sent on forced leave.
