Three Himachal Swimmers Selected for Senior National Swimming Championship in Ahmedabad

Shimla, June 15: Himachal Pradesh swimmers Bhaghyavardhika Verma, Bhushan Thakur and Aditya Rana have been selected to represent the state at the 79th Senior National Swimming Championship, scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, from June 16 to 21.
The announcement was made by Himachal Pradesh Swimming Association President Vinay Dhiman and State General Secretary Ishan Akhtar. The selection trials were conducted at the Wet N Wild Satla Beans Swimming Pool in Bhayuli, Mandi district, under the supervision of State Joint Secretary and Selection Trial Observer Nitish Sharma.
Based on the performance of swimmers during the trials, Bhushan Thakur and Aditya Rana were selected in the men’s category, while Bhaghyavardhika Verma of Solan earned selection in the women’s category.
The selection committee comprised Ritesh Ahluwalia, Upasana Verma, Dayawati, Diksha Sharma, Garima Chauhan, Isha and Nitish Sharma, who jointly finalized the three-member state team.
Congratulating the selected swimmers, Vinay Dhiman and Ishan Akhtar said the association has consistently worked towards providing athletes from across Himachal Pradesh with opportunities to compete at national-level championships, National Games and other major swimming events. They expressed confidence that the swimmers would perform well and bring laurels to the state at the prestigious national championship.
