THDCIL Women Shine at 29th ICPSU Badminton Tournament with Gold and Silver Wins

Rishikesh, December 11, 2024: The women’s badminton team of THDC India Limited (THDCIL) delivered an outstanding performance at the **29th ICPSU Badminton Tournament, held from December 4 to 7, 2024, at the Noida Indoor Stadium. The team clinched **Gold Medals** in the Women’s Singles and Doubles categories, along with a Silver Medal in the Women’s Team Event.
The tournament was organized under the aegis of the Power Sports Control Board, Ministry of Power, Government of India, and hosted by NTPC Limited.
R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director of THDCIL, praised the team for their exceptional achievements, stating, “This remarkable victory highlights the extraordinary talent and determination of our women workforce, reflecting THDCIL’s commitment to holistic development and employee empowerment.”
Key performers included Bhawana Rawat, Sr. Manager, who secured Gold in Singles and Doubles (alongside Krishnendu PJ, Assistant Manager), while the entire team earned Silver in the Team Event. The team handed over the trophies to Director (Personnel) Shallinder Singh at the Corporate Office in Rishikesh.
Singh emphasized the achievements align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering Nari Shakti, adding, “THDCIL’s women workforce continues to inspire excellence across fields, showcasing their strength, capability, and spirit.”
The women’s team, comprising Bhavana Rawat, Krishnendu, Jyoti Meena, Varsha Joshi, Jayshree, and Jagruthi Hyma, has set a benchmark in sportsmanship and teamwork.
