St. Thomas’ School Shimla Hosts Vibrant Inter-House Literary and Music Fest

Toshqui, Kasturi, Shipkila, and Chinar Houses Shine in Poetry and Song Competitions

Shimla, August 8:
St. Thomas’ School, Shimla, buzzed with creativity and youthful enthusiasm as it hosted its Inter-House Hindi Poetry, English Poetry, and English Group Song Competitions on August 8. The event, held for Classes II to V, showcased the linguistic flair and musical talents of students across four school houses – Toshqui, Kasturi, Shipkila, and Chinar.

Vice-Principal Sharon Nanda inaugurated the program with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony. The competitions were judged by Sejal Rawat and Rohini Dogra.

In the Hindi poetry segment for Classes II–III, themed “Ab To Macha Hai Hahakaar,” Toshqui House secured the top position, followed by Shipkila House. For Classes IV–V, Kasturi House won first place for their poem “Kudrat,” with Shipkila House again placing second.

The English poetry competition for Classes II–III featured “Let’s Go Out and Play,” where Chinar House emerged victorious and Toshqui House claimed second. In the senior segment (Classes IV–V), based on “The Magic of Everyday,” Shipkila House stood first while Chinar House came second.

The final event – the English group song competition – was a musical delight, with Toshqui House winning the top honours and Kasturi House finishing as runners-up.

Nanda applauded the participants’ creativity and dedication, and encouraged continued enthusiasm for such enriching events.
